This chart show’s the ethnic breakdown of SFSU students receiving their degree in comparison from 06/07 to 07/08. It illustrates the notion that more minorities are graduating with a B.A. Degree than the year past. In almost every ethnic minority, there was an increase in number of students. The only ethnicities that seemed to be the same were Caucasians and Pacific Islanders. The most dramatic increase was seen within the Total Asian ethnicity and Mexican Americans. This might conclude that more there is more opportunity for minorities to earn an education, and to hopefully find even better opportunities. However, a recent Newsweek article reaffirms that more minorities are being accepted into universities, yet still having trouble graduating.
