Professor Jassen Todorov began playing violin at the age of 5. Since then he has
come along way and has had many accomplishments, including becoming a commercial pilot! He started studying music in his native country of Bulgaria and also started giving music lessons while in high school. He continued his education in the United States receiving a bachelor’s in violin performance from Harid Conservatory in Florida and a master’s degree from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. He has performed throughout the world and has taught at the University of Rochester and currently is a Professor of Violin at San Francisco State University.
In this interview, Professor Todorov speaks about his introduction to music, music as a career, why he became a pilot, and gives advice to frustrated musicians.
